One More Upgrade Coming to Dynamics 2013 – Competitive Online Licensing Model

This upcoming fall, Microsoft will release the next version of the Dynamics CRM program, codenamed Orion. In addition to Microsoft Dynamics ’13, there will also be an updated online version, called Dynamics CRM Online Fall ’13. With the online release comes three new licensing options to provide customer pricing flexibility, compared to the single license price point that has been utilized by Microsoft Dynamics CRM since the original online version debuted in April ’08.

Customers will be able to choose among three options, the Professional, Basic, or Essential package. Currently, customers have to pay $44 per user per month. The Professional package will cost $65 per user per month and will include “… the full capabilities of Microsoft Dynamics CRM including sales force automation as well as marketing and customer care.” Most users should opt for this package, especially with all of the recent purchases Microsoft plans to integrate, such as MarketingPilot and Yammer.

The Basic package, priced at $30 per user per month, is ideally meant for those “…who need to manage accounts, contacts, leads, cases and access custom applications as well as for business analysts who require reporting capabilities.” This will primarily be beneficial for sales/marketing and service users.

The Essential package is priced at $15 per user per month and is “… designed for light Dynamics CRM Online users.” In addition, there will be no extra cost to access mobile applications and Microsoft is allowing customers the ability to “mix and match” users and licenses so every user can have the features they need at the right price.
