Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 – R2 Update & 2014 Planning

Microsoft Dynamics NAV took a big step forward in 2013, especially after the release of NAV 2013 late in 2012. There were dozens of new features added including SharePoint integration and an enhanced web user experience.

Similarly to 2012, the NAV 2013 R2 update was released this past October with even more upgrades, starting with deployment in Windows Azure and integration with Office 365. A major focus is on financial/cash management, involving the processes around the collection, handling, and distribution of cash. Automatic payment processing provides automatic payables and receivables and Bank Reconciliation is supported as both an automatic and manual process.

For those international users, NAV 2013 R2 also provides standard functionality that enables companies to make and collect payments according to and in compliance with the SEPA format. Tools are also available for Microsoft partners to meet country-specific bank integration and payment requirements.

Multitenant support provides partners with an easy function to add new customers and quickly roll out updates with reduced downtime and server costs. Additional administrative tools make managing, administering, and synchronizing NAV 2013 simple and efficient.

As the 2013 calendar year winds down, the Dynamics NAV team continues to plan for 2014, when the product codenamed “Crete” will be available in Q3 or Q4. SBS Group can get your organization running NAV R2 with plenty of time to learn all of the new features before the Crete release in 2014. Contact us for more information!
